1, 2, 3...as confident as you can be

Confidence…isn't it something that we all long for. I personally experience ups and downs with this. Some days I feel on top of the world and comfortable, and a lot of other days I want to hide in my room, cry myself to sleep or just feel miserable. Why? Because I am not happy with the person I am. I am not happy with a lot of things. I sometimes feel like a loser, or an anti-social person. I am not outgoing enough, I'm not skinny enough, I don't wear expensive clothes. So many reasons why I am not satisfied.

The reason why we are not happy with ourselves doesn't have to do with the person we are, or became, it has to with our surroundings. Open up a magazine, watch tv commercials, see skinny models or by watching movies we influence our perception of how we are supposed to feel, look or act. It takes us away from reality and creates a perfect picture. But that picture does not exist in real life, it is a not achievable dream. Therefore we need to stop thinking about what if... or maybe... I created some steps to follow to become the confident person we all want to be.




1) Acceptance

Accept the person you are, embrace your flaws and your strengths. You are you for a reason. You were perfectly created and you should feel proud of the person you are. You are just as good and beautiful as any other person around you.

Accepting the person you are is a very difficult task, yet it can be so relieving So what that I have a big nose or butt? You are not going to feel better thinking about it all day, so better just to accept my flaws and find a way to make peace with them.  


2) Strengths and weaknesses
Figure out what you are good at and on what you need to work on. If something is bothering you that you wish you were better at, take a course. Read a book about it or perhaps find people with the same issue. 
Your strengths will show you that you are worth every penny in the world. There is always room for improvement, so continue working on this as well. 
Writing down or thinking about your own strengths and weaknesses is a great way to learn better from yourself. You might discover some new things that you didn't think of before. You might get to know a new person. Pick out 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses and decide which one you are going to work on for the next couple of weeks.

3) Perfect Imperfections
So what you are not perfect? How boring would it be if we were. When we would do what everyone expected from us and would never make any mistakes. Wouldn't the excitement of life be gone. We would all be the same and not be unique anymore. Embrace the things that you do not like about yourself. Learn to deal with them and try to improve yourself. Accept your flaws and do the best you can. That is all you can really do.
No one should judge you for the person you are. We should not judge other people because they are different. The differences between people is what makes every individual beautiful. Never let anyone tell you anything different. If they do try to stand above it and be the bigger person. Be proud of who you are and try to stand out. People look up to people who are different and embrace their characteristics.
